Hartsock commits to BYU

Jakob Hartsock, the 4th ranked player in 2013 committed to his dream school, Brigham Young University.

A lifelong Cougar fan, the younger Hartsock is the brother of current BYU Cougar Noah Hartsock.

The 6’7 combo forward’s stock was on the rise due to the outstanding season he was having this year for the Bartlesville Bruins and the Cougar coaching staff decides it award time to extend an offer.

“Coach (Dave) Rose called Bartlesville head coach (Tim) Bart and I after shootaround and offered me a full ride. I committed to play there.”

Hartsock will go on to a LDS Mormon mission for two years prior to attending BYU. Which will make and will enroll as a member of BYU’s 2015 recruiting class.

The 6 foot 7 forward is known as an outstanding shooter with great touch from midrange and can hit threes as well. He choose BYU over offers from Missouri St and Utah St.
